This video explores South Western Newfoundland, its history and beauty. This area is renowned for shipwrecks and some of the clearest waters in the North Atlantic for scuba diving.

The "Stalbas" a 90m fishing vessel which sank in the harbour of Isle aux Morts (Island of the Dead). This ship is lying on its side in about 50-60ft of water, the ships nets are still draped around the super structure. We even take a swim inside for some eerie pictures. An "Astrolabe" dated 1628 was found in the waters off Isle aux Morts!

The "Ascania" a 9000 ton Curnar cruise liner which sank in 1918. This ship was en route to Liverpool, England with troops when it ran aground. The ship now lies scattered across the ocean floor after being victim to salvage operations and the furious North Atlantic. Live ammunition can still be found in and around the wreck site!

This video also takes you on a scenic tour of the Southwest Coast from Rose Blanche to the Codroy Valley. See one of the oldest lighthouses in Newfoundland at Rose Blanche, experience the beautiful white sandy beaches around Port aux Basques, and one of the most picturesque places in Newfoundland...the Codroy Valley.
